Local Files

Local Files can sit on either side of a sync: Data Sync reads files from, or writes them to, a directory on the runner's own filesystem.

Source Sink No stored secret

Overview

"Local" means local to the runner that executes the sync. That makes this connector mainly useful on a BYOC runner, where the directory can be a volume you mount: to stage files you hand to another system, or to load files you have already exported.

There is no secret: access is whatever the runner process is allowed to read and write.

Before you connect

  1. Choose the directory on the runner, and make sure the runner process can read it (for a source) or write to it (for a sink).
  2. Keep reader and writer together. Files written on one runner are not visible on another, so a sync that reads them must run on a runner that can see the same directory.

Connection fields

Set once, on the connection, in step 2 of the add-a-connection wizard.
