AlloyDB

Google Cloud AlloyDB is a sink in Data Sync: changes from any source are written into tables in an AlloyDB database. There is no AlloyDB source.

Sink PostgreSQL-compatible

Overview

The whole connection is a single connection string, a DSN, held as a secret. There is nothing else to configure on the connection itself.

Before you connect

  1. Make the instance reachable from the runner. AlloyDB instances have private IPs by default, so the runner needs a network path into the VPC, or the instance needs public IP enabled.
  2. Create a database user for Data Sync that can write to the target tables.
  3. Build the DSN for that user, in the standard PostgreSQL URI form.

Connection fields

Step 2 asks only for the connection name. Everything Data Sync needs to reach the database is in the DSN.

Credentials

Step 3 asks for the DSN, which is required. Because it contains the password, it is stored as a secret: a Blunox-managed value or a reference to your own secret store. The connection keeps a reference, never the value. See Connections.
